Philippines has World’s Worst Airport

It’s like a slap on the face to every Filipino especially for the government that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA-1)  is now being regarded as the WORLD’S WORST AIRPORT.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA-1) lifted from

Let me first share to you some of what I’ve read from webpages online about the NAIA 1.

This is the very first which I read a week ago from a travel blogger’s blog. “Let’s start with the international airport. Ninoy Aquino International is exactly the same as it was all that time ago; the same awful green lino when you arrive, the same over-crowded Departure Hall, nowhere to sit if your check-in desk isn’t open. Once through security you find the same down-market shops, toilets that don’t work or are “under repair” and very few F&B places.” Philippines – Manila – Awfully Disappointing

The second that I read was from a website on airports, Sleeping In Airports, wherein Manila, Philippines ranked first as the worst airports in 2011. Some travelers commented and posted on the site mentioning the “thieves and extortionists dressed in uniforms” and even said that “airport employees are the worst money hustlers around”. These, perhaps, are ample words uttered for me to ask if are they technology-wise enough to use electronic pickpocketing devices? But not that much, I guess.

And the most recent, is from the Philippine’s leading telecommunications webpage article, From 5th worst, NAIA-1 now world’s worst airport.

I could not say anything more but this is really a very shameful truth. I guess, this is now a call for the government to act something on this.

UP Pep Squad performs in Azkals game vs Nepal

After bagging home the cheerleading champion title for this year, the UP Pep Squad performed their shortened winning cheer leading routine in the Azkals game versus Nepal in Rizal Memorial Stadium last Tuesday.

One of the stunts of UP Pep Squad with their Madonna-inspired look

I haven’t seen the shortened version live during the game of Azkals verus Nepal, I just made use of the online video uploads because of my class. As usual, UP Pep Squad was doing great. They really were fighting and still standing high for the name they have been carrying for more than three consecutive years – the cheerleading champion in the country bagging the cheerleading trophies.

The UP Pep Squad will be joining the Cheerleading World Championship this coming November 26 and 27, 2011 in Hong Kong.

More power UP Pep Squad!

Summer 2011 Today, but not in the Philippines

While the other side of the world is having their Summer 2011 fever, the Philippines, on the other hand, is seemingly on its flooding fiesta. It has always been expected that every ‘BER’ months in the country, Filipinos are almost always experiencing countless unexpected consecutive typhoon attacks.

When I went home last week, there was actually 2 different typhoons attacking the country. Fortunately, all of my travel flights went good and safe. As I arrived home, my nephew – Didong asked me why I went home. He asked if it’s summer time since he is used that I could only stay at home for a longer time only during summer season. Off course, as a 5-year-old kiddo, I explained to him why. He asked if we could go out and have time at one of the resorts in our farm town. I just told him that the weather ain’t good. But he insisted since it has been a while, according to him, that he wasn’t able to dive into a swimming pool. Then I remembered that I bought him last year summer a portable inflatable swimming pool. I asked about his swimming pool. He drag me at the back area at home and pointed to me what happened to his swimming pool. I asked our house helper to fix it but only said that there are no pentair heat pumps to use at home or even any air pumps for the inflatable swimming pool. Again, I talked to Didong. I explained to him that I can’t bring him in a swimming pool or resorts. Instead, I just brought him toys. Haha!

Oh well, getting back to summer 2011, I just wish it’s summer time again for me to experience another vacation. Woooh!

Paris Hilton Loves Filipino Designers and Foods

Paris Hilton has arrived in the country on August 14, 2011, Sunday, in the afternoon.

The heiress just recently posted on her twitter account saying “Love my stylist here @Bea_Constantino. She is putting me in the most beautiful dresses. Loving all the Filipino designers, so talented!” and “I love the food in the #Philippines! So delicious! Loves it :).

As a Filipino, off course, it’s very flattering and heart-warming to read such appreciation from an international and a Hollywood actress. Who doesn’t like to hear such then?
