After bagging home the cheerleading champion title for this year, the UP Pep Squad performed their shortened winning cheer leading routine in the Azkals game versus Nepal in Rizal Memorial Stadium last Tuesday.
One of the stunts of UP Pep Squad with their Madonna-inspired look
I haven’t seen the shortened version live during the game of Azkals verus Nepal, I just made use of the online video uploads because of my class. As usual, UP Pep Squad was doing great. They really were fighting and still standing high for the name they have been carrying for more than three consecutive years – the cheerleading champion in the country bagging the cheerleading trophies.
The UP Pep Squad will be joining the Cheerleading World Championship this coming November 26 and 27, 2011 in Hong Kong.
More power UP Pep Squad!
So sad to know that University of the Philippines is not included in the recently disclosed 2011-2012 top ranking universities in the world or even just in Asia. No one can blame me for feeling such because it’s my alma mater.
Anyway, here are some of the top ranking universities for 2011-2012 in Asia and the world.
- University of Tokyo, Japan ranked first in Asia and ranked 330th in the world.
- University of Hong Kong, Hongkong ranked second in Asia and 34th in the world.
- National University of Singapore, Singapore ranked third in Asia and 40th in the world.
- Peking University, China ranked fourth in Asia and 49th in the world.
- Kyoto University, Japan ranked fifth in Asia and 52nd in the world.

Humbly sharing to you that my Alma mater, University of the Philippines Mindanao, located in Davao City, Philippines, is now unstoppably ranking in several universities and school ranking sites in the country.
I actually was looking for affordable but of good quality barcode scanners when I stumbled upon the PhilStar.com news written by Isagani Cruz and was published on August 04, 2011 about the ranking universities. And I am very glad reading my school‘s name on there aside from other University of the Philippines top ranking schools.
Yay! That is really a very great achievement for University of the Philippines Mindanao and other campuses.
Kudos to UP Mindanao!
After a number of years that the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UPMin) Bachelor of Science in Biology (BSBio) Batch 2003 haven’t had a reunion yet. And finally, we found the long-waited, night to be with each others’ laughs last April 30, 2010.
We just met at Dimsum Diner in Torres Street in Davao City where we had our dinner also.
After making ourselves bloated, we went to K1, videoke and KTV bar to have some sing-a-long moments and had some drinks there. This was one of our used-to-do
things in college when hanging out – drinking and singing in a bar.
After those sweet talks, jokes, songs and drinks together in a KTV, we decided to get some shisha. Most of my classmates haven’t tried shisha yet, so I let them breathe vanilla-flavored yet deoxygenated air. LOL!
A night with them made me reminisce all those memories we had in college – in UPMindanao. However, I was just kind’a upset after these photos were posted in facebook since a number of people (friends, though, who’re not from UPMindanao) commented negatively like I just have nothing to do but to drink. Too bad to think that they don’t know who really am I yet just easily could make a word out of an album of a night with college friends.
Thence, one of my classmates in medicine, from Silliman University throw me a joke days after she read those comments in my facebook. She said I might need to undergo drug rehab or alcohol rehab because of that or maybe she can pay for my alcohol treatment. We’re just laughing then.
Just think of this, would medical schools accept me, nor my parents if I’d been very addictive to alcohols?
