Union Bank Opens in Dumaguete City

I supposed to have this post during the day Union Bank has opened its branch here in Dumaguete City last November 2009. I already forgot the exact date when was that. If am not mistaken, it was either November 23 or December 2. SmileyBut anyway, I was very glad when this bank has opened its branch here in Dumaguete City for me to have the easiest and most convenient way in doing transactions with regards to my online kaching. During the opening of the bank, I immediately applied for new DC coz I had trouble with my previous CC. Take note, I just had DC now, and not CC anymore. Smiley It was a long disappointing story, so better, I guess to have DC then than CC.

Well, so much with that, though haven’t fully decided yet whether to accept the offer on being a webmaster, I have already browsed over the internet on what would a webmaster would do. Good thing I have found a very useful guide in webhosting. Aside from that, it is also affordable. I was thinking then of having one? LOL! Help me decide whether to be MD at the same time webbie mastah or just solely MD!?!?

I have been blogging for almost three years now but been writing since I was in my elementary years. This is really my passion, WRITING. However, when I enrolled in a medical school, wherein that time, I already had my Medical Blog – Pinoy Medical Doctor, there was one medical student, who happened to be the President of the Asian Medical School Association who asked me to be part of the Philippine Medical Students’ webpage. He asked me if I could work with them as a writer and a secondary head webmaster for the maintenance of the website for Philippine medical students.

Honestly, I was very flattered when he just contacted me through my Walking Newspaper blog. But I was hesitant also whether to accept the offer or not. He even told me that if I will be working with them, the website will somehow be run by me. I will be the one to manage the write-ups or articles and the kachings of the site. However, I asked myself if I really have that enough knowledge for webhosting techniques. I told him I am a Bachelor of Science in Biology graduate and recently a Medical Student; I have an idea on SEO which I experienced working as part time SE Optimizer before back in college though. But webhosting itself, I am not confident enough for that stuff. Much more, the webpage is hosted by Joomla. I used to hear Joomla from co-workers before, but haven’t tried operating it yet.

Working with them, I mean with other medical students for the benefit of the medical student association would be good but I guess I still need to have ample time to learn and study about webhosting.

How to INCREASE Google Page Rank?

Blogging for me has made my life more exciting day by day. Why? Aside from discovering what the human body has something peculiar, the technological world has some amazing things outside school which that really excites me everyday. One of this is the boosting PR of my blogs – I’m…but GAGAY. (PR 2) and The Latest Buzzzz (PR 3). Though Pinoy Medical Doctor doesn’t have PR for now, working hard and looking for effective link building serviceis what am gonna be handing now.

PR, or Page Rank, sounds very intriguing and mind tickling for bloggers like me because of the high priority it could have. Surely, you guys knew what I mean! Ayt? Smiley And no one can ever deny that! Smiley And to have higher PR, link building is what we have to have; building or creating effective “incoming links”, it is. What the usual, should I say, newbie blogger must do is to do manual exchanging links with co-bloggers. This is eventually a time consuming for a blogger since not all bloggers could respond immediately to the other if asked to link.

However, effective link building services are available and easier to grab in the world wide web today. Just a single click, and surely, your link/s will be ready to flood the web and will receive more flooding links as well and an increased page rank!

Lola’s Medical Alert

For the past several years after the death of our grandfather, my mum’s dad, we just then celebrating our Christmas Eve with our grandmother, my mum’s mother, who has is staying with us for a couple of years already. However, we had our Christmas eve last December 2009 without our Lola, local dialect pertaining to grandmother, was not at home. Our aunt, my mum’s younger sister, brought our lola to their place so she could able to spend holidays with them – with my cousins and my uncle. SmileyHowever, we noticed that every time she go with our aunt and went back with us, she has always something to claim like pain here and there; at any parts of her body. One time, she was suffering from real pain and the family only knew when our cousin told us that our lola was claiming to him her painful pelvis. Thence, my mum and sis brought our lola in the hospital to have her physical and medical check up. Everything were fine except her slight low level of hemoglobin in her blood wherein the doctor just prescribed some supplementary drugs for her to be taken in everyday. But, her claim regarding her pelvis wasn’t gone and getting worse every time she walks and even needing proper slow movement when attempting to seat. Thence, my mum decided to bring our lola somewhere, I forgot where was that, to have her a massage. After less than an hour, our lola was looking good and could walk straightly then. We urged her to tell us what happen to her before that day if she fell or what. She then told us that she accidentally spill something over her body causing her to lose control of her balance and slid into somewhere.

Our lola with our uncle (mum’s cousin) last April 2009.

This situation which my lola has experienced was actually just one to counting hundreds of cases of grannies who fell and slid in their houses. But this could be lessen with the use of medical alert apparatus for grannies like my lola.

The medical alert apparatus are designed for fall alarm wherein everytime there would be accidents happen, grannies would just simply push a certain button on the apparatus that should be worn as bracelet-like gadget or somewhere else in the body or even just inside the pocket. What’s even better is that, there is a 24 hour monitoring of the gadget, so when a granny is wearing the gadget and she accidentally fell, a customer agent will know the status of the one wearing or using the gadget and a rescue team will then be rushing through houses for help.

I might try looking for something like this for my granny as soon as I get back home. Smiley Take care lola!

I have been staying here in Dumaguete Cityfor not more than seven months yet. This small city which solely relying for foreign exchange economic situation wherein almost half of the population in the city are non-Filipinos, is flooded with small business centers/companies. Most of which are local centers. These business centers had been operating, surely, for a couple of years already. However, in terms of phone system, one could consider a monopoly of broadband provider which is successfully powering almost all the business centers in the city. Not to mention, it is the phone provider I am subscribing today. The telephone company is good, however, natural climatic changes interrupt the supposed to be perfect connection of business owners-client talks most of the times, specifically the past two months.

This situation is a no-no even for small businesses which rely its market specifically on customer services. Small businesses now a days need to be techie off course just to ride on what the technological generation is having now for it to be visibly successful and actively could roll its credits. And that technology is the internet.

And what’s the latest on connecting with the internet now? It is the VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL or the VoIP. It is a way of voice communication over internet protocol rather than the traditional public switched telephone network. Smiley
Vocalocity provides small business voip that is of pocket-wise, user friendly and fully-packed with numerous features from calling, voicemails, inbox, auto-attendant and more. One could have unlimited calls and could customize tags for easy identification of incoming calls.Great vocalization, isn’t it? Smiley
