The Advantage of Understanding Amino Acids

When it comes to building muscles and looking ripped, amino acids and high protein bars can either be your best friends or your worst enemies. Amino acids are often referred to as “the building blocks of protein” because they are crucial in the development of muscles.  Understanding the role that they play when it comes to building muscles, will help you better understand how to have them work towards your advantage.

Some amino acids are made by our body, while others have to be supplied either through our diets or with dietary supplements.  The types of amino acids that our bodies do not make are called essential amino acids or EAA’s. BCAA’s or branched amino acids are a type of EAA’s that are responsible for the recovery and growth of our muscles. Without both essential and nonessential amino acids it can cause your proteins to turn into sugar and be stored as fat.

Amino acids play a very important role in muscle building by synthesizing the protein distributed to all the areas of our body.  During this process, if not enough EAA’s are present the process cannot finish, and the partial protein is made into sugar and then generally becomes stored fat.  BCAA’s increase this process so that less muscle breakdown and more muscle growth occurs following exercising.

Not only are amino acids beneficial after working out, but also during exercise as well.  Amino acids also oxidize as a source of energy that can be uses while doing extreme lifting and intense workout routines.  When the body can be pushed further and still recover n a positive way, then the maximum amount of growth can be seen while building muscles.

They easiest way to ensure that enough EAA’s are present in your body is by taking amino acids dietary supplements.  It is then used in less time because no digestion has to occur and synthesizing can happen immediately after working out to ensure that you receive the mass growth with each workout.

BCAA’s can be found in many of the foods we eat or can be supplied through supplement form.  Foods such as milk, whole wheat, and almonds are high in amino acids, and should be eaten regularly when muscle building.  Dietary supplement forms are drinks, powders, and even pills that work best directly before a workout routine to increase energy levels and maximize recovery.

If you really want to start off with the right foot when it comes to building muscle and maximizing your growth and recovery times, you need to make sure that your body have the right amounts of amino acids in order to keep up with even your most extreme workout routines.

When you dive into exercising with the intention to build muscle mass, you need to be aware of how your body recovers and supplies you with energy.  Even the top athletes use dietary supplements during exercises because it is no secret how crucial it is to have the right amount of amino acids and to use them towards your advantages.

* 2 tablespoons saltpeter

* 1 cinnamon stick, broken into several pieces

* 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

Good Bye Coffee

I think I really need to totally wave good bye to cups of coffee Smiley even though it’s really hurting me most.

Actually, the other week, I tried not to take any cups of coffee for a week even we’re still flooded with exams. Off course, as with my daily burps, milk is what I am just taking. But, since I need to strive harder for our final exam which has just started last Monday, I tried coffee again last Sunday night. But, telling you guys, I felt a lot of unusual things like palpitations until today, my migraine is getting back and dryness of mouth. I do not know why. I am not really sure if coffees do cause dryness of mouth, but with our symptoms which are really disturbing, I am pretty sure those are caused by coffees.I am getting shaky now more and more especially when I thought of going home the soonest and feeling these strange because my mum might be seeing me differently. Aside from that, my casino online games which I am just relying on to three to four cups of coffees a night might be disturbed.I haven’t talked to my cardiologist yet. I’ll just observe these symptoms up until Friday. If these will persists, and that would still be the time for me to permanently cry good bye for coffees.

New House, New Kitchen!

Last summer, before the start of our classes, I was looking for apartments where I could stay the rest of my medical study years here in Cebu. One of the criterion of the apartment that I was looking for is to have it a spacious kitchen for my personalized kitchen appliances.
I am not really good at cooking, but at least I know how to make cooking a good thing. Haha!
Yeah, I’ve found one apartment where I could have my own microwave oven for yummy chicken meals. I was also trying to fix with blenders for my desserts and off course, not to forget refrigerators to keep my mouth-watering prepared desserts.

However, when I asked for the monthly payment, I would more or less pay 20,000.00 PhP. Whew! That’s too costly for a medical student. Even my mum didn’t nod yes with what I have told her ’bout that extravagant spacious apartment I have found. Thence, we looked again in other places and ending up with a house where I could only share a kitchen with my other housemates. Though a bit small, at least I could still do all my undone food frustrations from my cookbooks. LOL! Smiley

Coppa Bambino of Gelatissimo in Ayala Center Cebu City

There was only one promised we took to ourselves when I and four of my classmates from University of the Philippines Mindanao after having the pocket-emptying Coppa Bambino of Gelatissimo in Ayala Center here in Cebu City last 31st of May this year, and it is not to have it again unless just after a year again. This means that we could only have Gelatissimo, specifically Coppa Bambino a year after we had it, so that would be next year May 31, 2012.

Right after the ice cream was served. Still yummy to look at!

Why I said it’s pocket-emptying? Coppa Bambino is a preparation of 36 different flavors of ice creams and such a costly ice cream for a medical students like most of us five (5). In fact, that time, I just brought with me less than a thousand bill but I still ended up using my debit card because I all my cash were spent with the foods and most of it were for the ice cream. Good thing I was able to check my debit card status, the cash advance I applied two (2) weeks before the day we’re supposed to meet or else, I might end up walking home from Ayala Center.

Proof of billing. LOL!

Aside from the fact that our pockets were all empty, we found the ice cream not creamy anymore when we’re almost fourth-way eating it. Because of the mixed flavors when in less than thirty-minutes (30) each 36 ice cream scoops melted, one cannot identify such flavor from the other. Just imagine a vomitus of different colors. LOL!

After 10 minutes, it because a soup of different flavors of ice cream. Haha.
Phew! In general, the coppa bambino has made us smile and bloated. That’s for sure! No doubt! But only we don’t want to have it again this year!

Churchill Manitoba Polar Bears

Can you guess what are these?

These are actually Churchill Manitoba Polar Bears. I am in posting frenzy with Polar Bears today coz I just suddenly remember one of the movie scenes while I was studying earlier which there were Churchill Manitoba Polar Bearson that movie. But I really forgot the title of the film. If I’m not mistaken, The Arctic Tale in 2007? I really do not know. I am not sure.

But, one thing’s sure for me now which made me crazy the past two months. If I won’t limit my eating cravings of pizza and all those carb foods, I might get as big as Churchill Manitoba Polar Bears then. Smiley Throw your pizza appetite and settle for protein snacks. Smiley Grrrr… One time, someone teased me my butt looks like Polar Bear’s. I do not know if I get mad or what. Do I really look real fat? What do I need to do now? Liposuction? Surgery? I am getting paranoid of being fat now especially that summer vacay is near.

And yeah, honestly, I am trying my best to forget that there exist pizzas in the world. But if you happen to visit me in my medical blog, I am still eating those like end of the world. LOL!
