My childhood dream of starting my own band—a pop-rock band that is—clung to me up to my adolescent years. I have always carried the idea of performing live onstage in vast arenas around the world with my fellow band mates. Geared with the best of musical instruments such as electric guitars, bass, drums, and a complete set of amplifiers such as Bogner alchemist, we would definitely captivate countries around the globe with our music.

I can almost see the image of my band on the covers of our very own record-breaking albums filled with various pop-rock songs to top the charts.
On the spur of the moment, I have thought why not make this a reality? Well, it won’t be that easy. But I think, here is how.
- First, you should start to recruit members. Collaborate with them and develop a friendship. Remember, this will not be a one-man show, work as a team.
- Second, pick your instruments and assign who plays what—do not forget the vocalist, bassist, guitarist, etc. Those are the essentials.
- Third, rock on. Compose and create music. Create art. Be the best you have always wanted to be. You are now one step closer to your dreams, show them!
I have always been a massive fan of bands. Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, you name it.
These bands and their meaningful songs bring out the inner emo in me. The different lyrics of their songs are beautifully knit masterpieces, which I can fully relate with.
Music offers me a different kind of therapy; it is something that soothes every inch of my system. As a fan girl, who is trapped in this eccentric world of emo bands, there is one problem I have, however. Ironic as it may seem but my musical ability does not extend much to what is considered the best.
Unfortunately, I do not even know how to play any musical instruments ― be it a guitar or a Yamaha PSR keyboard! I know, a pity, right?
But hey, it is not too late. For those die-hard fans that have the same problem as mine, we can still learn. It is not that easy but with a little patience and a determination, who knows, we could be experts and form the next rising band this world will ever know.

2016 is almost over and you are now asking yourself what happened to the days when you were supposed to save money. You mope and think about it. What went wrong? Do you still remember the time when you vowed to save money at the beginning of the year? How about the daily expenditure plan you have made to organize and keep up with your saving goals? Well, I guess it is time to say goodbye that little dream of yours for you can never buy that iPhone 7 you have always wanted. Your saving plan did not go kablooey for no reason. It was you. But as the old saying goes, everything happens for a reason. It is not too late. You can start anew with your saving plan, this time much disciplined and goal-oriented. So, here’s how:
Step 1. Set a goal. Ask yourself what you want, what do you really want to achieve. If it is an iPhone or a car, then be it. You must be determined to get it.
Step 2. Develop a saving plan. In a small notebook or a piece of paper, write your daily budget. Organize what you need to do, divide your allowance into portions (depends on you, really) –food, transportation, savings, etc. This way, you will keep track of your expenses and remaining money. If written on a piece of paper, stick it to your wall as a reminder.
Step 3. Discipline yourself. When you want to buy something, use the Need vs. Want principle. That is self-explanatory.
Step 4. Be smart. Always look for discounts. When you already reached your target money and ready to buy your dream iPhone or whatever it is, look for discounts. Plenty of sites on the internet such as Verizon Wireless, Tillys, offer discounts for various stuff such as smartphones. Different coupons from Groupon Coupons are also available. Think wise and do not just settle for what is good, look for the best.
