News confirming the death of Derek Boogaard, after his body was found dead by his family in his apartment on Friday evening, is flooding over the internet today. I’m supposed to be lurking about RC Cars UK over the internet just for fun, but the death of the ice hockey player of Minnesota Wild and the New York Rangers in National Hockey League (NHL), Derek Boogaard at the age of 28, caught my attention and stopped me from driving cars more.
What drove me to get hooked much of the news is that there’s still no reports yet, as on this moment, regarding any causes of Derek Boogaard’s death. However, even his New York Rangers family, his co-players, are confirming his death already in as young as 28 years old.
“Derek was an extremely kind and caring individual,” the New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather said. “He was a very thoughtful person, who will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and teammates during this difficult time.”
The National Hockey League Players’ Association Executive Director Don Fehr has stated the following:
“The NHLPA is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Derek Boogaard. Derek was a well-liked and respected member of the NHLPA, and his passing is a great loss to the entire hockey community. Our sincere condolences to Derek’s many friends and family during this difficult time.”
